چکیده
Computational analysis of quasi-brittle fracture in cement-based and similar composites, supplied by various types rod, fibre, etc. reinforcement, is crucial for the prediction their load bearing ability durability, but rather difficult because risk initiation zones microscopic defects, followed formation propagation a large number macroscopic cracks. A reasonable complete deterministic description relevant physical processes rarely available. Thus, due to significance such materials design construction buildings, semi-heuristic computational models must be taken into consideration. These generate mathematical problems, whose solvability not transparent frequently, which limits credibility all results ad hoc designed numerical simulations. In this short paper phenomena are demonstrated on simple model problem, covering both micro- macro-cracking, with references needful generalizations more realistic settings.

From rate-dependent to quasi-static brittle crack propagation
On the base of many experimental results, e.g. [18], [19], [21], [12], the object of our analysis is a rate-dependent model for the propagation of a crack in brittle materials. Our goal is a mathematical study of the evolution equation in the geometries of the ’Single Edge Notch Tension’ (SENT) and of the ’Compact Tension’ (ASTM-CT). Besides existence and uniqueness, emphasis is placed on the r...
متن کاملAn Einstein Model of Brittle Crack Propagation
We propose a minimal nonlinear model of brittle crack propagation by considering only the motion of the crack-tip atom. The model captures many essential features of steady-state crack velocity and is in excellent quantitative agreement with many-body dynamical simulations. The model exhibits lattice-trapping. For loads just above this, the crack velocity rises sharply, reaching a limiting valu...
متن کاملNumerical Study on Crack Propagation in Brittle Jointed Rock Mass Influenced by Fracture Water Pressure
The initiation, propagation, coalescence and failure mode of brittle jointed rock mass influenced by fissure water pressure have always been studied as a hot issue in the society of rock mechanics and engineering. In order to analyze the damage evolution process of jointed rock mass under fracture water pressure, a novel numerical model on the basis of secondary development in fast Lagrangian a...
